The story

Sheep (羊) meeting the eye (目): something coming into view, arriving. This kanji uniquely means both "arrive" and "wear": when clothing 着る (kiru) settles onto your body, it has "arrived" at its destination. At train stations, 到着 (touchaku, arrival) announcements are the traveler's most welcome sound.

Used in 到着 (touchaku, arrival), 着物 (kimono, traditional clothing), and 着く (tsuku, to arrive)
