The story

A hand (扌) with 最, the most, built from 日 over 取, take: taking the very best shot. 撮る is to take a photo, 撮影 is a photo or film shoot, 撮影禁止 means no photography, and a 自撮り is a selfie.

Used in 撮る (toru, to take a photo), 撮影 (satsuei, filming/photography), and 自撮り (jidori, selfie)
