The story

Stones (石) set out on that (其) board: the game of Go, black and white stones placed on a grid of nineteen lines. 碁 is Go itself, 囲碁 its formal name, and a 碁盤 is the thick wooden board, the finest cut from kaya trees.

Used in 囲碁 (igo, the game of Go), 碁盤 (goban, Go board), and 碁石 (goishi, Go stone)
