The story
A tall building with a prominent roof: reaching skyward. 高い (takai) means both "tall" and "expensive," connecting height with value. In Ginza, Tokyo's most 高級 (kōkyū, high-class) district, towering department stores like Mitsukoshi have sold luxury goods since the 1600s, where price rises with prestige.
Used in 高い (takai, expensive/tall), 最高 (saikou, the best), and 高級 (koukyuu, high-class)
