Fuji Learning
Terms of Service
Effective October 25, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Somei GK (創明合同会社), the company in Kyoto, Japan that runs Fuji Learning at fujilearning.com ("Fuji", "we", "us"). They cover the website, the app you can add to your Home Screen, the Android app on Google Play, and Fuji Premium.
By using Fuji you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Fuji.
1. Using Fuji
You can use Fuji without an account; your progress then stays in your browser on that device. With a free account (Google sign-in, or an email and password) your progress is saved to our servers and follows you to every device.
Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at hello@fujilearning.com if you think someone else has used it.
You need to be at least 13 to make an account, or older if the law where you live says so. If you're under 18, please use Fuji with a parent's or guardian's permission.
3. Payments, renewals and free trials
- Prices are in US dollars and are shown on the pricing page and at checkout; the price at checkout is the one that applies. Payments are processed by Stripe. Any tax is shown at checkout.
- In the Android app, Premium is bought through Google Play instead, at the price Google Play shows in your currency, and Google Play's terms also apply to that purchase.
- Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically at the end of each period and are charged to your payment method until you cancel.
- Free trial: if you've never had a plan, monthly and yearly come with 7 days free. A card (in the Android app, a payment method on your Google account) is needed to start the trial. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, the plan starts and you're charged.
- Cancel any time in Settings, under Fuji Premium, then Manage (a plan bought in the Android app is cancelled in Google Play: Play Store, then Payments & subscriptions). You keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- Lifetime is a single payment for Premium for as long as Fuji Learning is offered. It isn't a subscription and never renews.
- If we change the price of a plan, we'll tell you before the new price applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you prefer.
If Premium isn't right for you, email us within 14 days of your first payment for a plan and we'll refund that payment in full (a purchase made in the Android app is refunded through Google Play). For monthly and yearly plans that's the first charge after any free trial; lifetime purchases can be refunded the same way. After that, because Premium is a digital service that has already started, payments aren't refunded except where the law requires. If something has gone wrong with a charge, email us and we'll look into it.
If your plan ends, you keep every kanji you've collected and can keep studying them. You just can't add new ones beyond the free 100 until you subscribe again.
4. Story exercises
Story exercises are short stories and questions written by an AI model from the words in your Jisho. A story can contain a mistake, so please treat them as practice rather than as an authority on Japanese.
5. Using Fuji fairly
Please don't:
- try to get into other people's accounts or into parts of Fuji that aren't meant for you
- copy Fuji's content in bulk, scrape it, or use bots or scripts against it
- interfere with how Fuji runs, or overload it
- resell or share a Premium account, or get around the free limits
- use Fuji to break the law or to harm anyone
We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first and let you put it right.
6. Fuji's content and your progress
Fuji's lessons, stories, illustrations, Fuji-san, design and software belong to us or the people who license them to us. You may use them to learn, for yourself; please don't copy or republish them.
Some kanji data comes from the KANJIDIC2 dictionary file, © the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group, used under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence; stroke order comes from KanjiVG, © Ulrich Apel, used under the CC BY-SA 3.0 licence; and JLPT levels follow Jonathan Waller's JLPT kanji lists, used under a Creative Commons Attribution licence. That data stays available under those licences.
Your progress, your collection and the name you choose are yours. How we handle them is in our Privacy Policy.
7. Changes and availability
We work to keep Fuji available, but it may sometimes be down for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.
If we ever stop offering Fuji, we'll tell you in advance by email and on the site.
8. Leaving Fuji
You can stop using Fuji whenever you like. To delete your account, go to Settings, then Account, then Delete account: your account and its saved progress are deleted and a running subscription is cancelled. You can also email hello@fujilearning.com from the address on the account and we'll do it for you.
9. Disclaimers
We make Fuji with care, but we provide it as it is, and we can't promise any particular result, such as passing an exam. Fuji is not connected with the Japan Foundation or JEES, which run the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).
10. Our liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim about Fuji is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
None of this limits liability for our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability, or any right you have as a consumer, that the law doesn't allow to be limited.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Kyoto District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance, except where consumer protection law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and tell you by email or in the app before a significant change applies to you. If you keep using Fuji after that, the new terms apply.
