Water (氵) beside 干, to dry: the water your body pours out to cool you down. 汗をかく is to sweat, a sticky Japanese summer leaves everyone 汗だく, drenched, and a near miss brings out 冷や汗, cold sweat.

Used in 汗 (ase, sweat), 冷や汗 (hiyaase, cold sweat), and 汗だく (asedaku, dripping with sweat)
