The story

Water (氵) beside two threads (幺幺) sprouting (丷): picture moisture feeding new growth. 滋 is nourishment: 滋養 is nutrition, the 滋養強壮 promised on energy drinks, and 滋賀 is the prefecture around Lake Biwa, Japan's largest lake.

Used in 滋養 (jiyou, nourishment), 滋味 (jimi, wholesome flavor), and 滋賀県 (shigaken, Shiga Prefecture)
