The story

A heart (忄) beside 意, a sound (音) settled over the heart (心): picture a tune that keeps playing in your mind. 憶 is memory: 記憶 is memory itself, 記憶力 the power to remember, and 憶測 a guess built on what you think you recall.

Used in 記憶 (kioku, memory), 憶測 (okusoku, speculation), and 追憶 (tsuioku, reminiscence)
