The story

Strength (力) beside 甚, extreme: a mind working hard enough to sense what can't be seen. 勘 is a hunch, and 勘違い a mistaken one, but 勘定 is reckoning up, so お勘定 is how you ask for the bill in a Japanese restaurant.

Used in 勘違い (kanchigai, misunderstanding), 勘定 (kanjou, bill/account), and 勘 (kan, intuition)
