The story

A heart (心) under the same top as 墾, breaking new ground: a heart that works at a friendship like a field. A 懇親会 is a get-together to deepen ties, common after conferences, and 懇切丁寧 means kind and thorough.

Used in 懇親会 (konshinkai, social get-together), 懇談 (kondan, friendly talk), and 懇願 (kongan, earnest plea)
