The story

The top of 監, to oversee, set over 見, to see: looking over everything in view. 覧 is surveying: ご覧ください is the polite "please take a look", 一覧 is a list at a glance, and a 観覧車 is a Ferris wheel, a ride built for the view.

Used in ご覧 (goran, look, honorific), 一覧 (ichiran, list/overview), and 展覧会 (tenrankai, exhibition)
