The story
Big (大) over 可: picture a giant teetering on one leg. 奇 is the strange and the rare: 奇妙 is weird, 奇跡 is a miracle, and 好奇心 is curiosity, while an old sense, unpaired, lives on in 奇数, the odd numbers.
Used in 奇妙 (kimyou, strange), 奇跡 (kiseki, miracle), and 好奇心 (koukishin, curiosity)
