The story

Thread (糸) stretched lengthwise on a loom: 経 began as the warp, the long threads everything else runs through. So 経 means passing through: 経験 is what you have lived through, and 経済 is short for 経世済民, ordering the world and relieving the people.

Used in 経験 (keiken, experience), 経済 (keizai, economy), and 経営 (keiei, management)
