The story

Rain (雨) split into tiny parts (分): a fine mist hanging in the air. 雰 lives in 雰囲気, atmosphere, the mood of a room or a nice cafe. So many Japanese say ふいんき that it is a famous slip: the correct reading is ふんいき.
