The story

The sickbed (疒) wrapped around skin (皮): weariness you feel all over. お疲れ様です, literally "you must be tired", is the greeting heard in every Japanese workplace, at the end of a shift and in the corridor at noon.

Used in 疲れる (tsukareru, to get tired), お疲れ様 (otsukaresama, thanks for your hard work), and 疲労 (hirou, fatigue)
