Water (氵) beside bone (骨): picture slipping on a wet floor and landing hard. 滑る is to slide or slip, a 滑り台 is a playground slide, and students avoid the word before exams, since 滑る also means to fail.

Used in 滑る (suberu, to slide/slip), 滑らか (nameraka, smooth), and 滑走路 (kassouro, runway)
