The story

Strength (力) under 莫, the sun (日) sinking into the grass, the old form of 暮: picture a foreman calling for hands until dusk. 募集 is a call for applicants, as on the アルバイト募集 signs in shop windows, and 応募 is answering it.

Used in 募集 (boshuu, recruitment), 応募 (oubo, application/entry), and 募金 (bokin, fundraising)
