The story

A hand (扌) pushing a bird (隹) along: picture shooing it into flight. 推 pushes ideas too: 推理 is reasoning out a mystery, 推薦 a recommendation, and a fan's 推し is the idol they push above all others.

Used in 推理 (suiri, deduction), 推薦 (suisen, recommendation), and 推進 (suishin, promotion/drive)
