The story

The old form 榮 was a tree (木) under two fires (火火): picture a tree so thick with blossom it seems ablaze. 栄える is to flourish, 栄養 is nourishment, and 光栄です means "it's an honor".

Used in 栄養 (eiyou, nutrition), 光栄 (kouei, honor), and 栄える (sakaeru, to flourish)
