The story

Leaves from the plants (艹) dropping, each (各) in turn, onto the water (氵): picture autumn coming down. 落 is every fall, from 落とし物 at a station's lost-and-found to 落語, comic storytelling named for its punchline, the 落ち.

Used in 落ちる (ochiru, to fall), 落とし物 (otoshimono, lost item), and 落語 (rakugo, comic storytelling)
