The story
Cloth (巾) hung beneath 莫, the sun sinking into the grass: a curtain falling as the light goes. Generals once ruled from curtained field camps, so their government was the 幕府, the shogunate; today 幕 rises on a season (開幕) and runs along the screen as 字幕.
Used in 字幕 (jimaku, subtitles), 開幕 (kaimaku, opening/curtain-raising), and 幕府 (bakufu, shogunate)
