The story

A shape that draws itself: a block with a bump rising from the top. 凸 is convex, a 凸レンズ gathers light, and paired with its twin as 凸凹, dekoboko, it describes a bumpy road or a 凸凹コンビ, a mismatched duo.

Used in 凸凹 (dekoboko, bumpy/uneven), 凸レンズ (totsu renzu, convex lens), and 凹凸 (outotsu, unevenness)
