The story

Something shown (示) under a scholar (士), and a gaping mouth (欠) beside it: picture someone reading clause after clause aloud. 款 is an article in a document: 約款 are terms and conditions, 定款 a company's articles, and 借款 a loan between nations.

Used in 約款 (yakkan, terms and conditions), 定款 (teikan, articles of incorporation), and 借款 (shakkan, intergovernmental loan)
