The story

Leather (革) and the moon (月) under a cover (覀): 覇 once named the moon's first faint light, and today it names the ruler who outshines the rest. Sports pages love it: 制覇 is winning it all, 連覇 back-to-back titles, and Okinawa's capital is 那覇.

Used in 制覇 (seiha, conquest/winning the title), 連覇 (renpa, consecutive titles), and 覇権 (haken, hegemony)
