The story

Threads (糸) stacked (且) and braided together, like 組紐, Japan's braided silk cords. 組 makes a group: a school class is 3年B組, a TV show is a 番組, and 組み立てる is to assemble.

Used in 番組 (bangumi, TV program), 組み立てる (kumitateru, to assemble), and 組織 (soshiki, organization)
