The story

Flesh (月) beside 旨, delicious, the 旨 of 旨味, umami: the fat that gives meat its flavor. A fish in season is 脂がのっている, rich with fat, and 脂肪 is the fat your health check measures.

Used in 脂肪 (shibou, fat), 脂っこい (aburakkoi, greasy), and 体脂肪 (taishibou, body fat)
