The story

Picture a hook (亅) hung up before the guests arrive: everything about 予 happens in advance. A 予定 is a plan, a 予約 is a booking, and the 天気予報 tells you tomorrow's weather tonight.

Used in 予定 (yotei, plan), 予約 (yoyaku, reservation), and 天気予報 (tenki yohou, weather forecast)
